Being one of Europe’s finest, the award-winning Colchester Zoo is essential for a fun-packed full day out. Touch an elephant, feed a giraffe and see over 200 species in naturalised settings. Tour the Zoo on the land train then let your own little monkies loose on the adventure playground!
Train enthusiasts young and old will delight in the golden age of steam at the East Anglian Railway Museum. On special days, catch a ride on one of the trains to relive the sights, sounds and smells of days past.
Families of all ages can stretch their legs and their minds on The Town to Sea Trail which takes you on a short, two and a half mile, journey from Colchester's town centre through to the historic part of Hythe.
